WMA Water is excited to announce that Fiona Ling will be commencing with us in September. Fiona will be based in our HOBART office and forms part of the senior leadership team within WMA Water.
Fiona’s expertise in flood hydrology, hydrologic analysis for hydro power schemes, hydrologic studies and modelling, real time flood forecasting, and impacts of climate change on water availability compliments WMA Water’s capability.
The opening of our Hobart office extends our services across the east coast of Australia.
Fiona’s experience covers numerous hydrology projects throughout Tasmania and overseas including hydrology and design flood studies for hydropower dams, optimisation of system operations for a multiuse dam, and development of a flood detection system.
Fiona has undertaken research on climate change impact on yields and flood events and has authored more than 50 journal and conference papers, contributed to ANCOLD guidelines and the Australian Rainfall and Runoff revision.
Fiona’s appointment is effective from 6 September 2016.
