Council have engaged flooding consultants WMAwater to carry out the work. An important feature of the flood study is community consultation which aims at informing the public on the progress of the project and allows the identification of community concerns as well as an opportunity to provide information on previous flooding experiences. Flood marks and recorded rainfall data from previous flood events are of particular interest. This information will be used in computer modelling of flood behaviour in the Wollondilly River and Mulwaree River.

Residents living near the Wollondilly and Mulwaree Rivers in the regions surrounding Goulburn will be sent a newsletter in August containing details about the Study along with a questionnaire seeking information about any flooding they have observed.
